Foundation Class Behaviors

 

1.               Behavior:  Name Game

       Levels:

1.    Check In

2.    Respond to Name

3.    Respond to Name Despite Distractions

4.    Increase Duration of Eye Contact

 

2.             Behavior:  Settle

       Levels:

                      1.         Shape “Lying on a Mat” Behavior

                      2.         Add a Cue

                      3.         Introduce Distractions and Increase Duration

                      4.         Shape a Settle Within a Boundary

 

3.           Behavior:  Down

       Levels:

1.    Follow a Target to Down Position

2.    Add a Cue

3.    Build Duration

4.    Response from a Distance

 

4.           Behavior:  Mine/Take It

       Levels:

1.    Ignore Food

2.    Ignore Food on the Floor

3.    Ignore Food and Other Objects

 

5.             Behavior:  Sit

       Levels:

1.    Shape a Sit by Using a Target

2.    Fade the Target and Introduce Hand-Signal Cue

3.    Greet with a Sit

 

6.           Behavior:  Capturing & Shaping Games

       Levels:

1.    Head Dip

2.    Capture a Paw Lift

3.    Build a Captured Behavior into a New Behavior

4.    Cup or Box Game

 

7.             Behavior:  Polite Walking

       Levels:

1.    Connect the Dots

2.    Connect the Dots, with Mild Distractions

3.    Distractions Along the Path

4.    Increasing Duration and Distractions

 

8.           Behavior:  Recall

       Levels:

1.    Introduce Recall Using Hand Targeting

2.    Introduce Mild Distractions

3.    Increase Distance

4.    Fluency at a Distance and with Distractions

 

9.           Behavior:  Wait/Let’s Go

       Levels:

1.    Introduce Waiting at a Boundary

2.    Introduce Distractions to the Wait

3.    Introduction of Real-Life Distractions

 

10.             Behavior:  Targeting

       Levels:

1.    Touch Nose to Target

2.    Follow a Target

3.    Teach a New Behavior

4.    Touch Paw to Target
